A Housing Voucher Is Someone’s Front Door!
Santa Barbara County did not make a mistake by housing people during a moment of profound vulnerability. The mistake would be allowing temporary funding to expire without creating durable pathways suited to the different realities of those households. The questions before us are not simply whom to blame, but who holds responsibility, what was planned, what remains possible, and how government agencies and the broader community can work together before people lose their homes. – P.B.
