Remembering the Brave
A Memorial Day reflection honoring the courage, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of those who gave everything in service to others.
!
Today we pause.
Not simply for a holiday…
but for remembrance.
We remember the men and women who wore the uniform of this nation and gave everything they had in service to others. Brave souls who stepped forward knowing the cost could be great… and who went anyway. Some left home never knowing if they would return, yet they chose courage over comfort, sacrifice over self, and service over fear.
And today we also honor the families who carried that sacrifice with them. The spouses, parents, children, siblings, and friends whose lives were forever changed by the loss of someone deeply loved. Your sacrifice did not end on the battlefield. It continues in the quiet places where memory still lives, and we thank you with deep gratitude and respect.
Because of those who served… because of those who gave it all… we wake up each day with freedoms many people in this world still long for. The hope to build a life, raise a family, worship freely, speak openly, and dream without fear was protected by people willing to stand in harm’s way for others they may never meet.
So today, we do more than celebrate.
We remember.
We give thanks.
And with humble hearts we say:
We remember you… and we are blessed because of you.
